Leslie Wondra, LCSW

About Leslie

"Your story is not over yet. There is hope, and healing is possible."  At Healing Words Therapy, we believe in the power of this message, and I'm excited to be apart of your healing story.

Hi,  I'm Leslie Wondra, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a deep passion for helping people navigate life's challenges. I am committed to creating a compassionate and collaborative space for our work together.

With over 10 years of experience, I specialize in working with adults who are facing anxiety, depression, or major life transitions. My approach is honest and supportive, and I draw from multiple therapy styles to best suit your unique needs. I have also completed specialized training in ADHD, allowing me to better support clients who are living with or exploring a new or long-standing diagnosis. Whether you've been diagnosed for years or are just starting to explore what ADHD might mean for you, I'm here to support you on that journey.

In our sessions, I will work with you to develop customized therapy plans. I have expertise in managing cases of grief, loss, and stress, with a focus on building resilience and developing coping strategies. Through an honest, compassionate, and collaborative approach, I aim to help you build the tools to manage life's ups and downs.

Outside of the therapy room, I'm a wife, a mom, and a lifelong learner. These days, you'll find me trying out martial arts, chasing new hobbies, or listening to a great podcast.

My Professional Background

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina, Wyoming, Florida, and New Jersey.

Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, and community mental health. My experience includes:

  • Providing individual and group counseling to adults utilizing evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Delivering brief, solution-focused therapy through an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) model.
  • Performing in-depth psychosocial assessments and creating customized therapy plans.
  • Working as a School Social Worker, providing direct crisis intervention and targeted therapeutic support to at-risk students.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of doctors, nurses, and case managers in a hospital setting to provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Specializing in therapy for adults, LGBTQIA+, ethnic, and gender diverse individuals.

My goal is to provide culturally responsive and empathetic care. I am skilled at adapting to new responsibilities, effective communication, and building trust with my clients.

Your story is valuable, and I would be honored to be a part of it. I look forward to connecting with you to discuss how we can work together to help you achieve your goals. Please reach out to schedule a consultation today.
